New Trees on Church StreetPosted on June 23, 2013
In time for the Summer season, we have planted 25 new trees on the Church Street Marketplace in downtown Burlington! Some trees will replace ones that did not perform well in an urban setting, while others will be placed in new designated tree locations.
New trees on Church Street include Celebration Maples and Honey Locust trees, both trees have a reputation for hardiness in an urban setting.
Thirteen Celebration Maples have been planted on the Top Block as well as one Honey Locust, located in front of Ben and Jerry’s Scoop Shop. All other trees will be Honey Locusts, four will be located on the Mall Block, two on the Second Block and five on the City Hall Block.
We are very excited about the newest improvements to the Marketplace and look forward to our new trees growing tall!
