Citizens Bank joins us as presenting sponsor of Winter Lights 2014, an ongoing light installation on the Marketplace. Yes, the beautiful canopies will be back (on every intersection)….and the colored spheres! Our partnership with Citizens Bank allows us to enhance the display further for 2014 adding to the magical experience of Church Street!
Join Mayor Weinberger and Linda Magoon from Citizens Bank at 5pm SHARP on Friday, February 7 near the intersection of Church and Bank Streets for the illumination of Church Street, the Winter Lights Switch On and the Burlington Winter Weekend kick off!
The Winter Weekend celebrations reach every corner of downtown Burlington! Hotel VT’s Ice Bar takes place on Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th from 6:30pm-9:30pm! Enjoy specialty drinks, beautifully constructed ice sculptures and drinks that have been run through ice luges! Spend the following day watching brave souls jump in the lake, yes in February, to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Vermont, then head to the Church Street Marketplace for Winter Weekend activities!
The Outdoor Gear Exchange will host a snow shoeing demo in front of their store from Noon-4pm! Enjoy Wicked Good Ice’s Ice Sculpting Demo starting at 12:15pm SHARP, and beautiful ice sculpture gardens on the Marketplace! Downtown businesses are offering the Ice Breaker Button Promotion which provides visitors with special discounts and deals! The Ice Breaker Button Promotion, sponsored by Citizens Bank, will be used to raise funds for Special Olympics Vermont during the Burlington Winter Weekend, February 7-9. Buttons are $2 and provide a discount to anyone who is wearing the button at participating stores. All money collected from the buttons will go directly to Special Olympics Vermont. A list of participating businesses will be posted on Church Street’s website closer to the event. You may also look for posters at participating businesses !
